2. jabberwock,
n.
1. A manifestation of the deepest level of fear in the human psyche. 2. All of the things
that one is afraid of that one can put no proper name to. 3. The name of Lewis Carroll's monster in the poem "Jabberwocky";
it appears only when Alice is afraid and once confronted, never appears again.
"Beware the Jabberwock my son, the teeth that bite and claws that catch..."
The main reason for setting up is two-fold: I wanted to provide an easy way for friends and family
to find me, and I wanted to keep those same far-flung folks updated on my progress after the famed "smile surgery".
It might seem a little like bragging, but I enjoy reading my friends' sites, so I though you'd also enjoy reading and
browsing through mine.
This is a work in progress and I will update it as often as possible. It is kind of exciting to put
myself out there, you know?
So, who am I today? Certainly not the same person I was a few years ago. As with most people,
things change even when we are not looking. My hobbies are different: I've gone from playing hockey to bitching
about it; I've gone from winter camping to barely finding two days in a row to pitch a tent, and only when the weather is
good; I've gone from biking and hiking to strolling and wondering if I should get the bike out this year(?). I now pay
someone to rent a kayak, and I never go out alone. I haven't gone rock-climbing in ages. So, what am I doing instead?
Working. In July/05, I graduated (again) and hopefully I will have the time to get back into some of the
things I like to do once the newness of the job I currently enjoy in Natuashish wears off. Oh, I'll never be as hard-core
as I once was, The Myasthenia Gravis has taken care of that, but I would like to get out for a while and not be wondering what work there is left to do...ah,
sweet freedom. I am definitely ready for it.
What's New?
Friends are people who know all about you, and like you anyway.
